INTO University Partnerships Launches Global Student Visa Tracker Tracking Student Mobility

Visa Issuance US (1)

INTO University Partnerships is proud to announce the launch of its Global Student Visa Tracker, an interactive tool that consolidates monthly student visa data across Australia, Canada, the UK, and the US. Powered by data as recent as April 2025, this innovative dashboard offers vital insights into how evolving visa policies are directly influencing global student movement.

Is the UK experiencing a renaissance in international student demand? What is the impact of visa policies on inbound students to the US? How are study caps in Australia and Canada affecting student demand?  INTO’s new consolidated student visa tracker helps point to some answers.

Updated quarterly, our tool allows users to review student visa issuance trends, comparing performance over the past year and over the most recent three months of available data. Users can select the study destination countries and view trends by region to get an up-to-date picture of market dynamics. The data used is official government releases from Australia, Canada, the UK and the US (the so-called ‘big four’ student destination countries).

Some Hot Takes

Based on the latest release, we have yet to witness the full impact of the US visa policies in these published statistics but can clearly see shoots of recovery in the UK which has experienced an uptick, thanks to a 26.5% increase in the number of visas issued for the past three months compared to the same period last year. Canada, on the other hand, shows continued declines in visas issued to students, especially from South Asia.

The next update, with data from August and September, will give users the first real insight into where students are going and how policy turbulence and growth in alternate destinations has affected the all-important fall intake.

Key Features and Significance

Comprehensive Data Coverage: Quarterly visa issuance data from four major study destinations presents an unprecedented, holistic view of international student mobility trends.

Real-Time Impact Analysis: With data up to June of this year and updated quarterly, the tracker means observers no longer have to wait 18 months or longer (with Open Doors in the US and HESA in the UK) to see how student flows into the ‘big four’ destinations are progressing.

Why the Global Student Visa Tracker Matters

In the competitive landscape of international education, agility and data-driven strategy are paramount. Outer shifts, like visa processing delays or regulatory changes, can dramatically alter student intentions and behaviours. INTO’s Global Visa Tracker transforms these shifts into actionable intelligence, empowering institutions with a clearer understanding of where students are going.

How to Use the Tracker

The Global Student Visa Tracker is live and accessible via INTO’s Market Insights hub. Universities and partners can explore the data-rich, interactive dashboard for free and leverage its insights to strengthen recruitment strategies, refine marketing, and enhance competitive positioning. Users can select destination countries and source regions to help fine tune their analysis. Our own experts are on hand to provide additional commentary and support for our partners. We will announce updates via LinkedIn and through partnerships with external experts and commentators.

Supporting Insights from the Field

This launch complements INTO’s broader suite of tools including the “Mapping the UK’s Academic Appeal” dashboard that equip institutions with deep understanding on enrolment patterns over a six-year span. We blend that with insights derived from the world’s largest annual agent survey and our own student surveys capturing sentiment and study intentions from across the world.
