Challenge

With international student mobility evolving and competition intensifying, U.S. universities face increasing pressure to maintain global visibility, foster alumni engagement, and develop robust international partnerships. OSU aimed to reinforce its brand and expand its footprint in key East Asian markets — Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, and Vietnam — while engaging prospective students, alumni, media, and institutional partners.

Solution

As a trusted strategic partner, INTO played a key role in planning and facilitating this high-impact visit. Working collaboratively with INTO’s regional offices, the INTO OSU team coordinated a series of engagements across all four countries. These included alumni gatherings, prospective student meetups, institutional visits, and media interviews — all tailored to highlight OSU’s global leadership in research, innovation, and industry collaboration.

Key highlights included:

  • Student and Alumni Engagement: Events in Taipei, Seoul, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City connected hundreds of current and future Beavers with OSU’s leadership, creating a platform to share the university’s vision and opportunities.
  • Institutional Partnerships: Meetings with leading academic institutions in each country explored collaboration in joint research, dual-degree programs, and student exchanges.
  • Media Exposure: OSU’s visit garnered major coverage across global and regional outlets, including Yahoo, MSN, Taiwan News, VNExpress, Tuổi Trẻ, and Thailand’s Dek-d, dramatically enhancing visibility and credibility in the region.

Outcomes

The tour delivered measurable results across several dimensions

  • Brand Amplification: Widespread media coverage reached millions, reinforcing OSU’s position as a global leader in AI, semiconductors, sustainability, and experiential learning.
  • Stronger Alumni Ties: Events revitalized alumni networks, particularly in Taiwan and Vietnam, fostering mentorship, advocacy, and philanthropic support.
  • Student Pipeline Growth: The tour energized prospective student interest, particularly in Taiwan where over 230 Taiwanese students currently attend OSU — a number expected to rise.
  • Institutional Collaboration: The visit laid the groundwork for new academic and research partnerships aligned with OSU’s mission and strategic priorities.
