Dean - Frank G. Zarb School of Business, Hofstra UniversityDr. Janet A. Lenaghan was appointed the first woman Dean of the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University in 2019.
Under her outstanding leadership, Zarb School’s undergraduate programs, graduate programs and online MBA have consistently achieved top rankings.
Under her direction, the Zarb School developed several new degree programs which respond to business and workforce trends. With significant investment in emerging technologies, the Zarb School develops leaders with the technological agility needed to succeed in global business. Dr. Lenaghan also works to broaden community engagement through innovative programs leveraging the resources of the School to help shape the future business leaders of tomorrow.

On her achievement as a woman leader and changemaker, Dr. Lenaghan says: “While women have made strides in securing top leadership roles there is still more work to be done. As the first women dean of the business school, I hope to clear the path for young women to gain the experiences and opportunities needed to reach the top levels of organizations. Through mentoring and actively sponsoring other women by intentionally opening doors and creating opportunities, I want to help the next generation of women leaders achieve new heights of success.”
An expert in human resource management, Dr. Lenaghan is regularly sought out to comment on workplace trends and has been appointed to several distinguished nonprofit boards.
A doctorate holder from Pace University and an MBA from the Frank G. Zarb School of Business, Dr. Lenaghan’s research has been showcased on various domestic and global platforms and published in a variety of academic journals.
