Oregon State University is a research-intensive institution, offering students opportunities for experiential learning in fields ranging from business, engineering and environmental sciences. The university is one of the public institutions in the US with the Carnegie Foundation’s Tier 1 distinction indicating the highest level of research activity from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. It has been ranked No. 41 among top research universities by Best College Reviews 2021.

OSU's main campus is in Corvallis, Oregon, and rated the safest college campus in the US by ADT News and Resources 2018. OSU is home to a diverse, green college town where students can explore the nearby mountains and coast. A few blocks from campus is the city center, where regular markets and festivals are held. Students get around by bus and many bike, as nearly all roads in Corvallis have bike lanes.

OSU welcomes about 3,500 international students to campus every year. The university has grown its international enrollment more than four times faster than the national average since the INTO OSU partnership began more than a decade ago.

The INTO OSU Center

The INTO OSU Center is INTO’s first center in the US. INTO OSU has a strong commitment to international education with a five-story International Living-Learning Center opened in 2011—a global hub of student life and educational activity built collaboratively by the university and INTO.

  • 150 INTO OSU and OSU staff and teachers provide services such as personalized academic, language and cultural support.
  • The center welcomed students from 64 countries during the 2018 and 2019 academic years.
  • 91% of INTO OSU Pathway students were eligible to progress to degree programs in 2019-2020, 99% of whom enrolled.

Programs

Through INTO, students can apply for direct admission to a wide range of the 300+ undergraduate and graduate degree programs across OSU’s 11 colleges, or for Pathway programs that prepare them to pursue an OSU degree.

Top-ranked degree programs at OSU include a top 15% computer science program in the US, according to College Factual 2021, the No. 18 supply chain and logistics management program, according to College Choice 2018, and the No. 21 biological/agricultural engineering program, according to U.S. News & World Report 2020.

INTO OSU Programs:

  • Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees: Students who meet academic and English requirements for their desired undergraduate or graduate degree programs can apply directly to the university program.
  • International Direct: First-year students who meet academic and English requirements for undergraduate degree programs can apply directly to the university program of their choice and receive comprehensive support and a Form I-20.
  • International Year One: Students can earn credits toward their degree even if they don’t meet academic and English requirements for their chosen undergraduate degree program.
  • Undergraduate Transfer Program: A customized program allowing students to transfer credits and apply them toward their degree.
  • Master’s International Direct (MID): Provides comprehensive support and services for full degree-seeking students the first term in select graduate programs.
  • Graduate Pathway: Provides a direct path to various degrees, with one-, two-, and three-term options available.
  • Academic English: An intensive program offering students rapid progress in preparation for an academic degree.
  • INTO Online English for Academic Success: An intensive online program offering students rapid progress in preparation for an academic degree.
