Based in Perth, Australia, The University of Australia (UWA) is a global top 100 university with a reputation for teaching excellence, employability and an industry-rich learning experience that takes students beyond the classroom.

Programs

UWA College’s programs have been developed in close partnership between INTO and The University of Western Australia. They offer a range of core and elective units designed to ensure breadth of study and to provide students with the opportunity to study a wide range of majors – providing streams into the Arts, Biomedical Science, Commerce, Engineering, Mathematics, Science and Computing.  

UWA College provides a range of programs, with varying lengths and entry points in the academic year.   

UWA College Programs:

UWA Foundation Program  Provides international students with the academic knowledge, study skills, and English language competence to progress to the first year of a range of Bachelor’s degrees at the University of Western Australia)  

Diploma in Commerce  Provides international students with the academic knowledge, study skills, and English language competence they need to progress to the second year of a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business degree at UWA)  

Diploma in Science  Provides international students with the academic knowledge, study skills, and English language competence they need to progress to the second year of a Science-related degree at UWA) 

Diploma in Computer and Data Science Provides international students with the academic knowledge, study skills, and English language competence they need to progress to the second year of a Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or Data Science.

Diploma in Engineering  Provides international students with the academic knowledge, study skills, and English language competence they need to progress to the second year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in one of 9 majors.

Academic programs typically last between 8 and 14 months.

Specially designed English language courses are available for international students requiring English tuition for the purposes of academic study at UWA or UWA College through the Centre for English Language Teaching (CELT).

Director, The University of Western Australia (UWA) College

Amanda Turner joined INTO in our very first Australian partnership as The University of Western Australia (UWA) College Director in early 2022. 

Prior to this Amanda work at UWA as Associate Director, Global Engagement in a role focused on establishing and operationalizing UWA’s strategies aimed at increasing successful international engagement and growth. 

Amanda has a Bachelor of Commerce and postgraduate qualifications in Information Technology.  She has spent a large portion of her professional life within the education sector predominantly as Divisional General Manager for Students and Education at the University of Tasmania. Other education organizations she has worked at include the Australian Maritime College, Western Sydney University and Charles Darwin University. 

Amanda has also worked in a number of leadership roles in the community services sector that focused on disability support in Tasmania, and assisting the long term unemployed and indigenous communities in the Northern Territory.
