Database Administrator (DBA)

The Role

The post is part of the Global DB Services Team which in turn is part of the IT Operations Team.  The role will focus on the daily DBA functions and providing Database Support across the SQL environment, both SaaS and PaaS, and primarily on the Microsoft Azure host.

Key accountabilities and duties

  • Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialised role.
  • Support and working with the Global DB Support team on the management of the Azure DB estate
  • Perform the required regular system and database health checks of the Global database estate, on the IaaS, SaaS and PaaS platforms.
  • Management and support of the Global Analysis Services estate.
  • Support & troubleshooting of related database issues within to be defined SLA’s
  • Monitor & log database changes & be part of the change control process to ensure only authorised and expected changes occur
  • Implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
  • Minimise database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
  • Monitoring of key events in the SQL estate using the SolarWinds DPA tool
  • Provide proactive and reactive data management support
  • Monitor and respond to security events\threats
  • Creation of user accounts and periodic review of database access
  • Perform platform\system maintenance as required
  • Perform database restores
  • Enhance & tune resource intensive queries through benchmarking and testing
  • Assist with INTO SQL Estate planning and project work
  • Providing absence cover for the UK Team DBA

University Partnerships Manager (FTC)

The Role

The UPM will maintain and build strong relationships between INTO University Partnerships and a wide-range of Higher Education partners across the UK.  The role will ensure that INTO’s students have the best possible range of progression opportunities at universities and will provide a strong leadership, mentoring and support function for Placement Officers across INTO’s delivery centres

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate evidence of the following:

  • A proven track record in customer relationship/ partnership management in the UK further/ higher education sector including effective networking and relationship building
  • Tenacity in approach and ability to find and implement innovative solutions
  • Providing leadership, mentoring and professional development for staff in our centres to ensure students receive the best opportunities for University course placement after their studies on their pathway programmes
  • An ability to review systems and processes and recommend, and implement improvements to improve customer service
  • Ensuring that systems and processes in relation to student placement activities meet the
  • A commercial mindset – including identifying additional opportunities for commercial and non-commercial agreements with universities and providing market intelligence

INTO University Partnerships is looking for an experienced student recruiter to take on the newly-created role of Regional Manager – Institutional Links (MENA). Based in the region, this role will be responsible for the recruitment of students for INTO’s network of US Centers, education agent training & support and budgetary control through working closely with selected schools and other educational institutions throughout the region. Regular travel throughout the Middle East & North Africa and occasionally to the UK or USA will be necessary. Flexibility is required to meet the demands of the post, including evening and weekend work.

Job purpose

The post is part of INTO’s Global TechHub Support Team, which in turn is part of the IT Operations Team. The team is divided into 4 key areas IT Service/Support, IS Infrastructure, Change Management and IT Security. This role will be part of the IT Service and Support function.

The TechHub team is responsible for IT Support across a variety of systems including desktop, server, network and mobile devices. All support is logged through the corporate Help Desk. Requirements

INTO University Partnerships is seeking to hire a Assistant Project Manager who will act as an INTO representative increasing recruitment into INTO’s programmes and partners in the UK/US.
The candidate should have interest in working in the international education sector and would like to work with education agents. The specific focus of this position is to grow enrolments to the existing and future UK/US based INTO centres and partner universities.
The candidate should be proficient in English language, and Mandarin will be preferable.

Reporting Line
The post holder reports to the Project Manager (Shanghai and Central China).

Job purpose
To deliver budgeted enrolment numbers for UK/US respectively in Shanghai and nearby Provinces.
